I needed this book more than I thought. I thought that I had processed my grief but quickly found with this book I just ignored it and it just manifested in other ways (anger burst , easily frustrated, and lack of sleep). With the book I was fully able to go through each emotion i was feeling without judgment and expectations.
Once finishing I felt lighter and a lot less angry, mad, and sad. I still deal with emotions but I now know that everything I feel is valid and ok.
Self-understanding is a subtle art. You can't just make charts and fill in the blanks and have it all be settled. It is not just what you do, but why and how you do it. This very practical, detailed book is an extremely helpful guide to finding a way out of your own limitations and then using that skill and freedom to help others. A great contribution to life and leadership.
This practical, yet life-changing book begins with explanations and exercises for how to work with thoughts, ideas, emotions, and all that comes with living our daily lives in this world. As the book progresses, exercises are suggested for how to move more and more deeply into the Self, into the beings that we truly are. Ultimately, we are taught how to let go of all that keeps us from our true Self. Interspersed with these life-changing practices are warm and deeply honest conversations between three grown men who are fearless about revealing events that shaped their lives and how they came to be the men that they are now.
